Re: Hypothetical quesion

His only option would be to sell it to someone in KZN, where they don't require permits.

Re: Cape Cobra

If I understand it properly, he was asking in terms of caging requirements as he hasn't seen tubs big enough for a 1.5m snake. Look at Big Jim 45L tubs, they are available at most good plastic stores. They're the biggest tubs I've personally seen for sale. I keep my 1.3m Eastern Diamondbacks in them...

Those are indeed A. s. cowlesi - my favourite Aspidelaps species! Will you be selling any of the hatchlings? If so, please drop me a PM.

Re: March Expo 2014

I just picked up an adult female Western Diamondback Rattlesnake from Rattlesnakes Galore. She just came out of the blue and will shed in the next few days. They are organised by different people and there are different exhibitors at the March and May expos. There are some that only exhibit at the M...

Re: Atheris mabuensis captive breeding initiatives

Snakes would have to be bred in significant numbers to decrease the illegal collection of that species. Unfortunately with uncommon species like, Atheris mabuensis , there just aren't enough in captivity for that to happen just yet. If I'm not mistaken, Jamster posted a picture of one a while ago? W...

Re: Keeping a Natal Green Snake

If you're from KZN, you can keep it without any permits. In any other province it would be illegal to keep. You can try feeding it gecko tails if you can't find any smaller geckos. I know of people that have converted Philothamnus species onto mice so it is possible to keep them. How healthy it is f...

Re: My Setup and New White lip

Gorgeous pictures man! That's a gorgeous snake, and an equally impressive set up. I see nothing cruel about keeping a snake in a tub with newspaper and a waterbowl. Opaque tubs make snakes feel just as secure as a hide box would. Obviously for arboreal species you would need branches etc, but most t...

Re: What's this Snake?

Identifying a snake from a shed skin, without any scale counts would be a guess at best. If you can get good pictures of the head scales atleast, we may be able to give a more accurate identification.

Re: Crotalus simus

Nah, not a Cascabel. Can't pin-point the differences between them, but a Cascabel's pattern is " dirtier than that of simus . Thanks croteseeker! Unfortunately I don't have any locality info on him ey. I saw a picture of culminatus and thought it could have some influence, but I haven't heard o...

Re: ID Cornsnake ha??

You're gonna have to give some info about the parents of the various clutches, as I'm sure you didn't get 83 eggs from a single female haha. That one looks like a silver, but could have heterozygous genes.
