Re: DIY UVB light

UVB lights cannot be reproduced at home. They are a specilised product. If you want to have healthy chameleons you need to have a source of UVB light. No use in spending a couple hundred rand on chameleons and skimping on uvb lights.

Re: Anyone know what this is.

I would say the snake is a Yellow Rat Snake with lighter than normal colouration on the sides.

Individual differences between snakes of the same species does occur naturally and a snake with different colouration or pattern is not always a morph.

Re: New future snake owner with questions!

I am working with Chequered Garter Snakes at the moment. They are very fast moving especially as babies and may be difficult for a child to handle without the snake shooting across the room and escaping under the furniture. Re: Analog and Digital Incubators

I set up a basic incubator for leopard gecko eggs.

I am using an analogue thermostat.

I have been checking the temps with an infrared temp gun and the thermostat is keeping the temps very stable and accurate.

Re: Tadpole ID help.

Tadpoles are very difficult to identify even with pictures.

I do not know of any exotic introduced frog species in SA.

You can release them into your local pond, dam or Vlei.
