Re: Skaapsteker Questions

I have been breeding spotted skaapsteekers since the mid-90,and grow all the hatchling up. year in/year out.Just set yourself up with wall gecko's breeding stock. Then you'll never have a problem feeding them again. The gecko must be used as the hatchling skaapsteekers first meal.To stimulate the stom...

Re: Gestation in Bitis arietans

The gestation period for a puff adder is around 177day from mating to giving birth,if keep in the temperature range og 25'C- 32'C.This is purely from my breeding centre records of the puff adders I keep and breed.Hope this helps.

Re: East African Gaboon Viper

The reptile comunity is suppossed to work together and not fight. We as the reptile comunity are only strong if we all work together.Share information and help one another out.Life is way too short to always pull bridges down, when we should be building them up.Being unified and open, helps keep us rel...

Re: East African Gaboon Viper

Hi Warren.just simply a cage is cruel for anything to live in a house isn't.There's a right and a wrong way to do anything. And our local and national authorities have been here to see my animal/reptile setups and are very happy with them. They wish more animal/reptile keepers would keep them this nic...

Re: East African Gaboon Viper

As reptile/animal are respected by us as family, not a trophy. We build housing units for them not cages.A cage stresses them out, dosen't suit their need.First chance they get they'll try escape,Because they're not happy.Which is completely the opposite with a housing unit. They're happier in side,aren...

Re: East African Gaboon Viper

you said it.hands on no tools. Some venomous snakes are nice in nature and let you handle them.Others not.Just like people some are nasty and some aren't.And our animals are family not just trophies.

Re: East African Gaboon Viper

Not realy a problem. They are captive bred.use a snake stick then hand on the tail and move them.Simple always tell them whats what.Always act the same around them and never show fear.As your energy will change and so will theirs.Western diamondbabck rattlers are real enquizative snakes.
