Bushviper, Aren't they usually a darker color? and if he is a atra, what does it mean in terms of switching up/adjusting his environment? aren't they a montane species? I have this guy on a coconut fiber substrate right now...thanks

Durban Keeper, Thank you for clarifying some of this. I am from the States and I've had this guy for like 3 weeks now. Any ideas what species he is? I just guessed palmarum from the photos I saw on these websites...guess these reptile breeders didn't invest the time to really examine where he's from...

Also, to add, I found these pics on a German website which unfortunately I cannot read nor translate. All I can see is that Tiradentes looks nearly identical in the photo of the man handling a dasypeltis! Dasypeltis Scabra mislabled??

Hi everyone, So my new companion here is Tiradentes, what I originally assumed was a Dasypeltis Scabra/common egg-eater. However, after doing much research, it seems that he is NOT of this species. Instead, it appears that he is either a D. Palmarum or Gansi. Any thoughts?? The store I got him from ...
