Re: Ball python advice needed

Do you have a captivity permit from Cape Nature to keep your collection? If you do, just keep a record of the babies born/sold/bought. They will be added/removed from your captivity permit when Cape Nature does an inspection for renewal every two years. Make sure though to apply for a transport perm...

Re: Info Needed, moving to Western Cape

Unecessarily pessimistic. I've never had any issues getting import permits to the Western Cape for my snakes. Imported from KZN and Gauteng and got all my permits in a week's time paying the normal R100 fee. Never been turned down either.

Re: Info Needed, moving to Western Cape

Hi Mania,

you can contact Lee-Anne Benjamin at Cape Nature about permits and info on restricted species. She is very helpful.

Re: BP - Feels really dry and rough

Hi Tina89, yes get him to the vet first thing to sort out the respitory infection. What are you currently housing him in? He needs to be in a plastic tub (remember air holes) with a hot spot (belly heat source provided by a normal foil heat mat) between 31 and 33 degrees celsius. Use a substrate suc...

Re: Rack system and Cape Nature Captivity Permit

All sorted. CN are not against rack systems as long as the tubs fit the snake.

Rack system and Cape Nature Captivity Permit

Hi all, I just wanted to find out if Cape Nature would have a problem supplying a captivity permit if my ball pythons are kept in a rack system. I have bought a three level plastic rack from Plastics for Africa with draw dimensions of 31x45x17cm which I've fitted with heat pads and thermostat. Draws...
