Thanks for the replies. I thought maybe there were some animals not seen too often here. Nowhere as rare as the Louisiana pines but still rare to see (especially when you want to photo one!). They can be somewhat common but they take a tremendous hit each year from vehicles...

wow...that doesn't really look like a pure eastern either...hmmmm.....more like an eastern black (L.g. nigra) X speckled (L.g. holbrooki)

also if you look at your very first photo, the nice gray band, you will note that there are what can be described more as "saddles" that round off at the ventrals, rather than the much more "banded" look as in milksnakes or other species like pyromelana...the black in the grayban...

Beautiful snakes. Do you know the history of your female (mar 1 2012 post) gray banded king? Is it possible it's a cross/hybrid? Lively colors!

Do you have any recent photos of this snake? It sure looks more like a Cal king than an eastern and if one of the parents is albino, then it likely has Cal king in there...
