Lets look past the presenters and talk about the program. If Mike wasnt in that 2 hour slot, it would have been like watching paint dry. None of the clips from previous Nat Geo programs were new. The new stuff filmed the previous 24 hours could have been interesting, but the fact that they broadcast...

A lot has been said about this event. Dendroaspis states that it is not to make money, but they are running a business…….. This is not purely to make money (before we start that argument), but it is a business. The term oxymoron comes to mind. What I would like to know is, what percentage of what in...

Great pics.

What equipment did you use and at what distance?

Watermarks and text over pics have become the norm, so dont apologise.

I may sound like a prude, but what immediately comes to mind is the term Macho-Factor.

Quite a Dinner table topic if you say your hobby or job is a Snake Venom Milker.

My Alter ego decided that I was a Good Boy in 2007 so i/we/he decided that I/we/he need a new SLR. So I gave myself a Canon Rebel Xti Digital camera.

Now I need to convince myself, my bank manager and my alter ego to buy me a nice big lens.

My first underwater shoot was with an old Bolex!! The Arri St was the one with the turret lthat could take 3 lenses? We used the ST quite often in Crash boxes and Flame Boxes during stunts and crashes. I came across my old Clapper-Board a few weeks ago, then It struck me that I have been doing this ...

Armata, that R 70 000 was for a Sachtler 3 stage Carbon Fiber, with a ground-level spreader and a Video 15 Fluid Head. That was also way too steep for me, so I settled for a Chinese version of the Sachtler, the Secced. I just replaced the legs and I am still using my 16 year old Sachtler 7 x 7 fluid...

Armata, what Panasonic do you have? Alexander, to give you an idea of the massive costs of equipment, I recently got quotes for a new complete Carbon Fiber Tripod for a proffesional video camera. For a tripod suitable to carry up to a 15kg camera the quote was just shy of R 70 000 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Y...
