Re: Bitis nasicornis offspring

Very nice indeed Rene :)

Do you have any pics of the mother when she was gravid? Also, What month did they hook up, so how long was gestation?

Cheers,
Al

Excellent Rene! Well done :)

My female from Ghana is gravid at the moment , they are due either end of March or June as she was mated by two males and i'm not sure which one hit home

Re: random pics

Also,
I try to discourage novice snake keepers from rhinos until they are certain they can provide the right conditions and resist from pestering them to look at the colours all the time ;)

Re: random pics

Eeeello BB, Steve,Colin :D He He, bet you knew i'd come in here as I reguarly say this. Ok , you and I can raise a rhino to a ripe old age because like many other keepers on here we understand snakes behaviour and needs and we have put in the work to learn about our captives etc. The reason I say rh...

Re: Gaboon

Ah that's cool  Standard b.rhinocerous it is then.

I only wondered as i've not seen any Westerns with teardrops and often over in Europe you'll get a wee bit of a throwback where along the line someone throws a bit of eastern in

All the best

Re: Gaboon

Hi BV,

Know what you're saying. I just wondered if this animal is cb and maybe has a small amount of Eastern in there. Much more Western without doubt, but on first impression the colours/markings just called out East

Re: Gaboon

Hi Bob, nice gabby.
Is it a East West cross? The colouration looks more eastern and there's a very small second eye stripe. also, although baby westerns have very tiny horns this snakes look very very small

All the best,
Al
