Re: looking for some unusual spp, anyone know any (legal) ke

Hi Arno, sorry I didn't actually see your reply til now (a year later!) - thanks for the info re Sulcata's...do you know of any Galapagos in the country? No luck with Monte, nor with UShaka, seems everyone's breeding programme's with dendrobates (and all frogs) seem to have collapsed. I did find som...

reptile heat pods

Wondering if anyone here or overseas has seen, or better, used, the "pods" mentioned at the bottom. I am looking for outdoor, weatherproof heat sources and these sound possibly promising.

Re: looking for some unusual spp, anyone know any (legal) ke

Along the same lines, does anyone know where I can get in touch with Lorraine Spence (former owner of Tygerberg zoo) or Abraham Snyman who was the reptile curator - I would like to find out where their Galapagos tortoises went!

looking for some unusual spp, anyone know any (legal) keeper

Re: OUR BABIES

As with most of our indigenous wildlife, you need permits, and you would need very good justification. You should never keep one as they are gighly social, and unless one can give them an exceptional outdoor living area they will destroy your house :). Incredibly smart, but they don't make good 'pet...

Re: Thank goodness for great vets!!

He managed to burn himself on his heater a couple of weeks back. Seemed to be superficial burns only, treated them and when he shed there was no damage to the new skin. However it was when he shed, perhaps the most perfect shed he has ever done, he is over 4m and it was all one piece, that the eye p...
