Hi guys, Haven't forgotten about trying to organise the herping. I am unfortunately completely busy until the 14th of December. I have spoken to the chap who owns the property and he is completely happy for a couple of us to have a look so I will try organise with him as soon as I am finished with m...

Terrapin??

Hi guys, We have a house at a small dam near Albert Falls dam in Kzn. We were on our way up the channel yesterday when we spotted a terrapin of sorts basking on a log. It was about 30cm long and plain black/brown in colour. It quickly moved into the water and swam downwards not to be seen again. I w...

Re: KZN herp union - get the ball rolling

From what I can gather it seems to be a fairly big property with lots of vegetation and piles of rubbish. Will phone him on Monday to check everything out as well as how many people and a date that will suit him. Maybe I will even pop around there and see what everything looks like so I can give you...

Re: KZN herp union - get the ball rolling

I am keen guys... I have a guy who has asked me to go onto his property in Hilton to do a search and move all the stuff we can find off the property into the wooded area nearby. I know that there are supposedly mambas on the property. Some of the Maritzburg guys will remember an article in the paper...

Re: What is this?

I would guess at a Harlequin snake - Homoroselaps lacteus. Not exotic but a very nice indigenous to find. Adults reach an average length of 30 cm if I am not mistaken Bites are very rare and are probably only likely to affect snake handlers. This snake is a South African endemic found from the Limpo...

Re: How To Use an Epi Pen to Treat Severe Allergic Reactions

Good post Mongoose, this was a constant problem for me (I have since been treated, think it is called desensitizing, and my reactions are less serious now) and it is definitely worth people knowing how to administer correctly. @mongoose- fredsmith is spot on, you can administer a second dose after 5...

Re: Pics of my pythons!

Very nice bud.... Your animals look very healthy and have some very good looking bloodlines in them.
Would love to see them in real life someday.

Re: New Pastel Ball Python

So, I am looking at spiders, pastels and some other nice 'base' morphs and will decide when the hatchlings start popping out. Marc, I am with you... My parents have however made a loan before but had to pay that back over time. I think it is definitely right that they make us pay though as I appreci...

Re: New Pastel Ball Python

@ snakes4Africa- it is not a problem of making a quick buck but more that I don't have the money for recessives at the moment and thats why I would like to get something slightly cheaper that will go well with my pastel and then build up to some of those recessives. I absolutely love these snakes an...

Re: New Pastel Ball Python

I was going to stay away from recessives mgiddings. I do like the idea of mojaves although I still prefer spiders and pastels.

I agree with you Brendan and Bundu...
I like the idea of both super pastels and bumblebees. Any news on your spiders Brendan?

Cheers,
Brad
