Re: Busted at the border

Had my inspection just now. Was like 10 minutes if that much, she just checked what reptiles I have and that was it, and I had to sign that she was there. I'm satisfied with how things were done and I won't have a problem with them coming again.

Re: Busted at the border

Yes @ Hantam the first time Leon visited me he told me that they had a meeting with the Bird Breeders that night or next day. Close friends of mine do breed with parrots and she told me about their permit system which now closely relates to ours when it comes to transporting animals (even around tow...

National Inspections

I would like to know what are the feelings surrounding the current inspections going on nationwide.
How was your experience, what should be expected?
What would my rights be as a reptile keeper?

And please keep it clean!

Re: Busted at the border

Just had a call from Natcon again. She said that Leon said that she should explain that they are doing nationwide inspections currently and that it is being done so they can get a clear idea on how many reptiles are being kept by each individual. Looks like Leon Muller is at the head of all these in...

Re: Busted at the border

No no the may not arrive unannounced at my home wanting to do an inspection I will just refuse entry! As far as I know they should make an appointment with you or have legal documents/warrant to enter without my consent.

Re: Busted at the border

Luckly I have nothing to worry about :) . It's fine for people killing snakes left and right around town and even getting in the newspaper for it but I have to be checked up like a criminal :smt013 . Not sure if Leon will come, he came last time when I applied for my permits, but it was our local Na...

Re: Busted at the border

NC Natcon just contacted me that they are coming for inspection next week. Wonder if it is because of my comment earlier in the post.....

Re: Tasty chicken (DUW)

Gave this topic a lot of thought this weekend. My mole snake enjoyed 6 chicken necks and he loved them. The rest of snakes ignored it. My kingsnake ate a piece of raw "boerewors" on Saturday, just a small piece to see if she will take and she did. Now, our Fruit and Veg City here sell a pr...

Re: Could snakes be AI?

I would have thought the sperm must be placed at about 3 - 5 cm in but this shows that the best place for insemination would be as close to vent as possible. Its amazing!

Re: Could snakes be AI?

Oky so me and JKA had a conversation yesterday and he mentioned something I did not think of. As you can see on this image: http://imageshack.us/a/img594/7137/anatomyi.gif When you look closely you will see that the oviducts that runs from the vent is seperate from rectum. Now my question is if the ...
