Re: Recent Zululand trip.

Really great selection of good photos Dean. I also love the unusual little slug-eater and the Setaro's dwarf chameleon. Also the waterbuck. What a beautiful place, isn't it?

Re: what do chameleons (wild) do in winter?

I am up in KZN and we were wondering the same thing a few days ago. We don't see many out and about even during our relatively warm winter. Perhaps I am not looking for them? Very interesting though. Will look in the lower shrubs.

Re: Rosy Boa (Lichanura trivirgata) babies

Well done Ferdo. Those are stunning and surely the biggest babies, comparatively speaking, of most snakes?

Aurora - Head & Neck not shedding

Sorry if I am raising a common topic here again, however, I have been over many of the shedding problem posts and I still would like to hear any other suggestions in this case. I have a beautiful young male L.aurora that eats like a tiger and has never had a problem shedding. So he is a dream aurora...

Re: Juvenile boomslang pics

What stunning photos of a stunning snake. My little daughter found one just like this many years ago in my Folks garden in the middle of Wartburg (KZN)! Those eyes are amazing.
Thanks

Re: whip spiders

Thanks Pierre. Got your email. Will respond soon. Yes I am fairly sure they are D.variegatus but it would be good to find out for sure. I think they a common in certain localities. Certainly in our garden.

Re: Striped Skaapsteker - constrictor?

Many thanks for the comments and suggestions. I must just add that I have two of these and had one on F/T mice but the other won't touch them so it is a bit frustrating. The other thing is that never having owned anything venemous except the odd herald snake, I am always amazed at just how effective...

Striped Skaapsteker - constrictor?

I have watched my Striped Skaapstekers feeding a few times now and I am curious to know whether it can be considered that they are constricting or using venom or perhaps a combination of both? Some photos of one of them showing how they always wrap a couple of tight coils around the mouse and don't ...
