Re: South Coast Holiday

Thanks for the IDs fooble Are painted reed frogs sexually dimorphic? The reason I ask is because I noticed that the other frogs had brighter colouration and they were also calling, I assumed that these were males. I observed this painted reed frog for quite some time, and it didn't call once, could ...

South Coast Holiday

We have been spending the last 5 days on the south coast, at the Caribbean estates. Caribbean estates is situated just across the river from the Wild Coast Sun, it is surrounded by coastal forests, with trails leading to the beach, and to the river. http://sareptiles.co.za/gallery/albums/userpics/18...

Re: Lift to the THA meeting

Hi

Thank you for the offer but, my mom has informed me that I have a friend whose birthday is on Friday. I will be visiting him this Friday, so I will not be able to make it to the THA meeting.
But thank you very much for the offer.

Regard
Leonard

Lift to the THA meeting

Hi guys I am hoping to go to the Transvaal herpetological association meeting this month, but I need a lift. I stay in the Montana area close to the Kolonade, my parents suggested that I should find out if there is anyone in our area that are also going to the THA. I would really appreciate it if so...

Re: Photographing Snakes

Hi MrG

Thanks for the advise, the edited photo looks great.
I didn't use any post production programs, all I did was crop the photos a little.

What program do you recommend for removing noise MrG?

Re: Photographing Snakes

Thanks
I will try getting better angles. I also took some photos of a brown house snake, but I had the same problem.
I also think my aperture was to large, at F5.6 every time she moved, my focus was thrown off.

Re: Photographing Snakes

Hi guys Sorry for being so quiet. Here are a few photos of my corn snake Cornelia. I put her on the porch on an area that the sun had been shining on during the day. The area was warm but not too hot. She enjoyed sitting on the warm pavement so much that she didn't flicker her tongue a lot at first,...

Re: Why do you keep snakes?

I like snakes because the are amazing, beautiful animals. I've always liked snakes even when I was small. Just like Rodwraylva explained there are so many great moments that we get to experience, I still remember how amazing it was to see my corn snake drink for the first time. But I have never actu...

Re: Photographing Snakes

Hi guys Sorry for the long wait again. Thanks for all the advice, I will take some photos of my corn snake after she has shed. @DooMShortS I didn’t think about how sharp the tongue should be, all I wanted was to get a shot with the tongue out. But it’s a thing that I will think about in the future. ...

Re: Photographing Snakes

Thanks Smeegle here are the new photos, I managed to find time sooner than I thought I would be able to. I tried again, this time with the settings fooble suggested, and I used the shade WB for all the photos. In this first picture I used -1 stop flash compensation, and the snake was further away so...

Re: Photographing Snakes

Hi guys Thanks for all the advice. I will try again this week or next week, and post the results. If that out of focus piece of grass was not in the shot it would have been a damn good photo! Good effort... Damn piece of grass! Well done though, seems like you are on the right track, keep it up:) Th...
