My first venomous snake was a Stileto, did not realise it was a venomous snake until it bit me on the finger. :)
Either then that Puff adder would be my first.

Froot I think what he means is why some snakes have orange tongues (Twig snake) and others black(Cape Cobra) etc.

Let's tke the mamba and teh lion for instance, could the smell of the lion not indicate to the mamba that it means danger, could have been in contact with a lion before and reacts on a defensive bite?!
