Re: 1 Day Old Pinkies

Its not advisable as you could give your snake "food poisoning".
I have made that mistake once, and lost a very valuable snake because of it.
Its not worth the risk.

Re: ATC 300 set up help

You cannot set the time on the ATC 300, it does not have a clock, just a timer. You can set up the timing function, and it works well, but you have to put the lights on manually the first time. To set: Hold TIMER button until the display starts to flash. The first flashing number is the length of ti...

Re: Vapona PLEASE HELP

You should only use a small amount, like a few slivers in a jar.
Seal the rest up to be used again at a later stage.
Remove the water bowls whilst you are treating.
Wash out all cages, wash snakes and vacuum the room, walls, curtains thoroughly.
Replace substrate.

Re: Nat Geo's Snakes in the city?

I agree. I had not heard of these two until the show aired. It is rather silly, but is not meant for us learned snake folk... Its designed to be entertaining to the general ignorant public that watch shows like Swamp People and all the other trash aired on Nat Geo. Throw in some snakes, some tattoos...

Worlds Deadliest - S2/E1 - Featuring "Cape Reptile Research"

On NGWild tonight.

Who saw the SA handler Sean Thomas almost getting tagged by a Cape Cobra.
Then he sent his pet meerkat into a house like a sniffer dog after a snake.

Your comments.

Re: Python scale issue

That's usually caused by a previous injury or damaged scale and is a form of scarring. It may disappear after a few sheds or may remain there for ever. Obviously if it starts getting worse or spreading you will need to take it to a vet. You can try soaking it in warm water, those bits might come off...

Re: Black Mambas - D. polylepis

Beautiful snake! Am presuming you have a male too?
