Re: Fastest striking snake

Puff adder and gaboon share the title from everything I've seen.

BV I have seen a documentary where a rattler lost to a puff adder so I think it depends on which country is making the programme... :)

Re: Pet Transport

RU is quite right. I was told by Time Freight that they don't do animals anymore as the SPCA got involved because their vehicles aren't ventilated properly for transporting animals...

Re: arachnophobia

I used to have the same problem. I overcame it by holding one. Getting one and keeping it in a tank will in my opinion not overcome your phobia but will probably heighten it just because you have something around you the whole time that you are scared of. Also, if you are that scared of handling it ...

Re: Mushy belly.

I would change her on to rats as soon as possible if she'll take them... Feeding her mice when she is fully grown isn't ideal if she wont make the change when she's older.

Re: Naja atra...

I would keep them separate anyway for handling purposes. A little less room for mistakes if you only have to worry about one at a time. My kaouthias will only be paired for breeding. Believe me they can be quick when they want to be and handling one while there is another in an open tank will increa...

Re: And another exotic bite.

I have two numbers saved in my phone and those same two numbers are saved in my wife's phone. Let's face it that getting the correct treatment timeously especially when dealing with exotics is not necessarily even going to come from the hospital. Having the correct contact people is essential and th...

trust is only relative to the first time it bites... the good old saying, if it's a "wild" animal and has teeth it can bite!

Re: stolen snakes Durban area!

that's why they are called suspects... because you suspect them... it's the detectives job to look into them... if you are sure it is these guys I'd take it further... though the snakes are probably long gone by now, but for your sake I hope not. ...and some advice... don't ever use the "I pay ...
