Re: confused about permits.

The alternative is make the snake "disappear". Apply to import it from outside the province. Once the permit has been issued then the snake re-appears. So much easier and you dont have the possibility that they could fine you and confiscate your snake. I agree with Arno. This avoids confi...

Re: Transport permits

If you want the permit to be expedited you can pay a double fee. This will encourage the permit issuer (Lee-Anne) to do it immediately.
If not she will shelve your application and go about her business till she considers that enough time has elapsed to issue it.

Re: Busted at the border

Officials cannot by oath decide which laws to enforce…. Quinten during World War II it was illegal to employ, educate or have any dealing with people who were of the Jewish faith in Germany. It was the law but it was no less wrong. In the USA it was illegal for a woman to hold any political or seni...

Re: Restrictions on venomous exotic species

Free handling, in my opinion is an issue that needs attention. If a new provincial or national control system is introduced but ignores this act of silliness then little will be achieved. Those keepers that get snake bit are usually the experienced amongst us due to familiarity or free handlers. Rem...

Re: Permit fees increased in the Cape. Justifiable?

The only way to confront this permit increase issue is directly. To post your disapproval about CapeNature on a web forum has no benefit to anyone. You need to contact the CEO directly. Email me and I will give you her direct email address. If no one is seen to object to this it gives them an uncappe...

Re: Cape Town Herpetological Workshop

Elroy there was no time to discuss the "special" conditions. I had requested this topic but the conditions were read through alowing very little time to question.
