Great to have in your garden, the bite is non venomous and the snake does not have any form of poison.

Re: Rock Monitor

Define a "good starter monitor" in your own words. Nile monitors are also legal. Green tree monitors aren't blacklisted so they're legal. Fijian banded iguanas are legal. So rock monitors aren't your only choice. Temperament-wise, well it depends on the individual. Wild caught rock monitor...

Re: What's up with all these kombuis adverts?

How convenient, I've been looking for ideas to build a kombuis! Who would have thought I would find an ad from UK about kitchens in a reptile forum of South Africa,

Re: Advice for cresties

Either that or one is eating the other one's food. Separate them and consider getting roaches rather then crickets (roaches are more nutritous). You can also t.ry mealworms. I'd rather not feed it off of ttongs, because then the gecko can chase the insect and ger exercise.

Re: silicone vs hot glue gun

Just use marine silicone. It is not toxic even if it gets water on it. It can also withstand hot and cold conditions.

Re: Vibrating day gecko??? Is it MBD? Plz help

One thing I always avoid with 4-legged reptiles, is to never house males together, especially when there is a female involved.

Re: Vibrating day gecko??? Is it MBD? Plz help

Maybe he's housing two males together and it was a territorial display or a sign of aggression. I have seen some geckos and lizards 'vibrate' to show intruding reptiles it is his/her property.

Re: sealer question

Use marine silicone and seal the edges of the cage as well as the corners. Just make sure the silicone you're using is capable to take the heat you want. It dries out quickly and it's not toxic to animals as the name implies 'marine silicone' which is used for sealing of aquariums(fish tanks). Melam...
