Re: Half Eaten King Snake (Beware Graphic)

Feeding it will also use up aswell as the digestion process. More than likely if the snake eats it might regurge and then you've taken a few steps back.

I agree with CP, dont bother feeding it.

Re: Need some help

The cage looks terrible, the snakes overall condition looks pretty good.

But check where the dirt is on the nose in the pic, looks like its right around the nostrils?

Re: Irian Jaya Carpet Pythons hatching - twins!

It makes no sense to me, but your theory about the twins is plausible. Maybe just not enough nutrients to go around and one snake was effected more than other.

Re: Irian Jaya Carpet Pythons hatching - twins!

MJ Fourie, instead of putting out the deformed ones just dont breed them. If the little guy has a chance to survive he must be given that chance.

Could it be maybe a problem during incubation that effected the snake during its develompent stages? Not necessarily genetics?

Re: Need some help

One thing I've noticed is when burmese have RI's that area of the nose gets fairly dirty. With the size of these snakes, the amount of fluid that gets expelled is quite a bit.

Maybe it has a RI? or as BV said in the process of shedding.

Have you seen the snake personally yet? or just in photo's?

Re: Pics of my Lamprophis inornatus

Snakes often live out far longer lives in captivity. Don't stress she looks like she's in really good condition as long as she still has an appetite I wouldn't worry about her leaving you anytime soon. So you've had her for 11 years?? Thats amazing, not many people can say they have reptiles that th...

Re: Breeding python natalensis

I wasn't trying to talk nonsense or piss people off, I'm just pointing out the obvious seeing as people on this forum tend to harp on about the legalities of keeping indigenous reptiles.
