Dawn and dusk in Africa are unique across the world and never cease to inspire awe. http://i.imgur.com/Pjvk9aM.jpg Moon last night http://i.imgur.com/xpEezvN.jpg I was supper excited to find my first Shield nosed snake - Aspidelaps scutatus scutatus (albeit a baby one) trying to climb over the small...

Re: Kokotsha - South Western Botswana

Found this Fork-marked sandsnake - Psammophis leightoni trinasalis today. Incredibly calm for a sand snake, didn't try very hard to flee, in fact I just picked it up by slowly moving my hand towards its raised head and gently grasping it around the neck. It tried feebly to get loose by wriggling onc...

Re: Kokotsha - South Western Botswana

Yeah Wes, been an awesome week, I'm super chuffed with all the fossorial stuff, and hoping to find some more. Just about everything I have found on this trip has been first time stuff for me which is excellent. Regarding the Lygodactylus , I see in Branch's Snakes and Other Reptiles of Southern Afri...

Re: Rats In Pretoria East

I'll see what I can do for you. What I have at the moment is very little and as far as I know all spoken for, The farm cycled out the sows for new breeders, so output took a bit of a dip, but it seems to be picking up now.

Re: Kokotsha - South Western Botswana

Time to catch up a bit, this’ll be a long post, I haven’t had internet for just over a week, but I have found plenty of critters. On my last night at the old camp I came across a juvenile Lamprophis fuliginosus , very light khaki-brown colour. http://i.imgur.com/36dz2BE.jpg http://i.imgur.com/XB77ET...

Re: Python attack ?

Look, there are a lot of big pythons in that area, I came across a number when I worked up there, but this story is either really b dly reported, or smells... "She felt a "feeling" and looked down to see the snake around her leg"? Now I've been bitten by a couple of pythons far s...

Re: The Fall of the Online Reptile Forum?

Guys have posted pics from their smartphones on this forum before. I personally can't advise how to do so, as I wait until I am on my computer to upload and have no experience in it. I am sure if you google "how to upload pictures from mobile phone to web forum" or something similar you wi...

Re: Cobra idenitfication needed

You get a banded variant of the Rinkhals, which is common in your area and they are reddish-orange with black bands. Google images and you should find some. That would be my first guess based on your locale and general description (size, colour, behaviour). The snouted cobra's can also be a reddish ...

Open yourself an Imgur account, resize your pictures (for fast uploading) in microsoft office picture editor (or whatever programme you choose), drag and drop them onto the imgur screen, they will auto upload...
