In European not much people have skaapsteker. But I think this snake is interessting for much peoples because you see the snake every time if the spot light is on. I feed them with parts from small baby mice. I do this in past and this is super. Small fish are good too. After some month they eat baby mouse self.

Now I have it in selfmade incubator 27 degree and 95% wet from air.

Breeding Skaapsteker

Hello. My skaapsteker (Psammophylax rhobeatus) is gravid and I think I get in next two week eggs. Did anybody breed this species here in the forum? What temperature the eggs need? What air humidity they need? How long I must wait if the babies comes out from eggs? Thanks for informaions. Vipernhunter

Here one from my subadult black House snake. He is a male and now one and a half year old. The colour is black. The adults are brown and dark grey and dark green.

Wait for two years. I get 5 total black house snake and now after 2 years 3 are dark green, 1 is nice brown and only one have black (very dark grey) colour. They are all from KZN.

Olive House snake change the colour from baby to adul. One dark green baby have now green/yello colour.

Thanks for all information. I know it is not easy to breed this snake. Keeping is ok. I have a group with 1.3 and they had mating. They eat all baby mouse/small mouse. I hope to breed this.
