100% agree with what Mark and BV said...

Feeding large snakes out the cage is cruising for a bruising....

Retics generally learn faster IMO, but most would say I am bias...

Hi mark. How are this retics coming man? I use Bio substrate in my cages (potting soil, peanut husks, peet moss mix), I also use live plants as this helps to get the bio-substrate active (gotta place them so that the tics don't crush them...). Just get some bleach on it if you can and give it a deep clean (you might have to get a carpet cleaner in or rent one). That smell takes more than one shower to come off from you too. Retics will piss when they are outside the cage as babies (defense mechanism) you need to just keep on handling them...

Thanks guys. Interesting to hear from the other herp parents. MMM...The garters sure are interesting and come to think of it I actually wanted one as a kid, feeding them cat food would also work well if the little one would like to keep hamsters/other food..I mean fuzzy pets at a later stage... Hi guys. My wife and I are expecting our first human adition to the family and I have always said that I would like to start them off young and get them a first herp as soon as they join the fam...lol I have tried campaining for another retic for the baby...but well the wife was not falling for that...
