Re: ID Please

Armata I have seen that before, or similar anyway... they use to make nests on the fence and I had to burn them with a blow torch because they made the the fence look terrible and untidy etc... according to father.
Anyway... they are colonial spiders.
as far as I can make out

Re: Need help.....

Closed container with a hole in the lid bit larger than the female at the largest part. Fill the container with a mixture of vermiculite and water, squeeze out all excess water until it clumps together, or sphagnum moss (some people disagree on this but it works well for me). And remove the male fro...

Re: Brutal Spectacled Cobra[ Naja Naja] Bite!!

BV, just a thought, what if the patient developed an allergic reaction during the process. What affects would that have shown, because as far as I know... an allergic reaction will also cause bad swelling. And allergic reactions aren't always detected up front, symptoms sometimes only show at a late...

Re: SAReptiles community opinion...

You can pick up dummerils for around R1500 to R2000 depending on where, when and what size. what about some rough scaled sand boas? or rosy boas (if you can find any). Carpets are nice, but they are mostly agro snakes and don't like to be handled much. Or I would go for a childrens or spotted python...
