Trouble Keeping Record of your snakes?

Postby Westley Price » Fri Nov 27, 2009 2:20 pm

I came across this handy table while browsing the net.

I thought it would be very helpful to all of us, especially if you don't have a record system in place.

This table is from: http://www.boa-subspecies.com/chart.htm

Go to the site to download an Excel spreadsheet.

Once my new cages are done I was looking into doing something similar. This looks rather good though.

Hi all...
I hated trying to keep records of feeding, using bits of paper etc...
I do Web Programming so I started working on a program that records feeding history...
The program is online and working and free.
I have also designed it to run on my Cell phone as my "Snake Room" is outside the main house.
(I have a Nokia E71, but it should work on other phones too).
I want to include breeding, growth, shedding records later on too...

Check it out:

I have put a facebook link on the login page that you can use to get info of updates etc...

I downloaded this and received another modified version from a member on the board, I made a few modifications and am quite happy to say that I have compiled a book for my records. Now I must just complete it and fill in all the snake's details. That is where the problem lies as I have to try remember when I got some of the snakes. I must say that thanks to this forum (and my addiction to posting pics of my boas) I have managed to get purchase or birthdates on most of my snakes!! I've only managed to do the visual morphs and visual differences on the Boas, and am up to 14 records already. Now I have to sit down & do the "not so easy to tell apart" Boas. haha Wish me luck!!

You can also try this program called Degei

It is used extensively in the states by big breeders to track their collections. It covers everything you want when it comes to managing your collections.

I use it to
Track weights
Track feeding
Track shedding
Track poops
Track medications

These functions are only a fraction of what the program does. It also provides reports and graphs on snakes progress, i particularly like the report that details problem feeders.

There was a really nice SA program available a few years ago. I had it loaded on my pc, but just never got to putting any info over. Will check into that though.
