First Crested Gecko Hatchlings

First Crested Gecko Hatchlings

Postby Jason&Sam » Wed Sep 07, 2011 5:25 pm

Hi Everyone,

Earlier in the year we were given two adult crested gecko's, as the previous owner felt he wasnt giving the attention that they needed and wanted them to go to a good home. We of course welcomed them happily and looked forward to learning about these new additions.

They had bred previously, and we looked forward to having our first eggs after the female had taken a nice break.

We found six eggs in their enclosure buried under the natural substrate we have in their cage recently and popped them into the cupboard to incubate.

On the morning of the 27th August we woke up to two tiny little babies! Too cute for words! We thought we would share a few pictures with you. The father is a dalmation and the babies seem to already have a few black dots showing, but we will see as they age what we have. We will post pictures of the adults at a later stage.

That is great, well done.
We had 4 babies last year and we still have them all left, they are just way too cute to sell.

Hi Guys

Thanks for the comments, we are hoping the other eggs hatch in about a week or two's time - they are growing so there is life there! Will keep you updated!

Congrats! I also just started getting eggs. Always nice finding some eggs. You say you found 6 eggs? So you must have at least two females in the cage or you didn't check the nesting site is a while? All the best with the other eggs. These geckos are becoming popular and so they should be.
