My scorpion collection

The P. villosus had 80 young, which is a quite nicely sized brood.

I mainly feed my scorpions roaches like Blaptica dubia and Blatta lateralis, but many feed them other insects like crickets and mealworms as well.

Thank You for this series of pictures.
I currently only have a P transvaalicus 3rd Instar.
As soon as I know what sex it is I will get the opposite sex.
My collection will grow as time passes by.

You really seem to breed a heck of a lot of scorpions. That surely takes the pressure off wild collecting. Thanks for that.

Rolandslf: P. transvaalicus is a great species, it's good to see that more people are taking interest in these animals.

Bushviper: Thanks for the kind words, it greatly appreciated.

Mailjvdb: Thanks! I suspect that the P. capensis female is only subadult still, so I am expecting a molt rather than a birth. But since I only have one male which is already starting to get a bit old, I mated the pair just in case she's adult. The mating itself seemed to be successful, but this is actually quite normal when mating subadult females. If she's only subadult, I'm just hoping that the male is still able to breed when she matures.
