The head being in the shadows makes it a bit difficult but yeah if I would wager a guess then spotted bush snake it is.

Philothamnus natalensis occidentalis, Western Natal green snake seems likely.

I would also say P. semivariegatus. I would not reject P. natalensis natalensis, but I think they are usually more of a plain green as opposed to having the black speckling as is seen in P. semivariegatus. As for P. n. occidentalis, if I am not mistaken, occurs much further out of Natal but I'm sure they are found in the province itself too ? But I am certain that they occur much further away from the coastal area than P. n. natalensis ?

Western natal green snakes occour in KZN and along the coast.

I would also go with natalensis; in semivarigatus the head is more destict from the body and the body is also much slender. Colouration should never be a definitive when ID-ing a snake, but in this case the colour of the belly helps out.

At least we can establish that it is definately psamaphis. Looking at the tail end, it might in fact be semivarigatus. Diffifult from the picture.

My money's on a spotted, natal greens are usually very plain green in color with maybe a bit of black speckling around the neck.
