I atek it this was a wild caught juvenile. As they recover they can become more feisty. I doubt a bite in the groin would end well. Chances of surviving a proper bite where ever you are is very slight in any case.

She's a captive born, she's a lot calmer and easier to work with than most of my rattlesnakes. ;)

I dont mean to bust your balls, but I have a few 100% real questions for you which I am honestly curious about.

Firstly, why do you do this? What are you trying to achieve?

And secondly, great, you are going to free handle, so why post it over the interwebs?

Westley, those questions aren't new, I've been asked these before.

1.Why do I do this and what do I hope to achieve?
I have no simple answer that will satisfy most people who don't agree with what I do, it's like trying to explain to someone who doesn't like snakes just why you love them, they wont really get it.

For the second part of that question, I wont to see for myself if a trust can be built between me and certain venomous snakes to the point of handling them just like non-venomous snakes.

2.Your next question 'why post it over the internet'?
Because I've searched the web and have not found any real articles or anything else pertaining to what I'm trying to do. I know I'm not the only one interested in this. I've been bashed before by so-called responsible keepers being called stupid, moron, reckless, dangerous. and a bad example. That just comes with the territory, yes what I do is dangerous and I've never recommended anyone imitate what I do.

Thanks for your question Westley.

I have 3 Eastern Diamondbacks, you can see their pics in the exotic highly venomous snake section. I've never owned westerns before, I hear they tend to be cranky. lol

The problem I have with this sort of behavior is when one of you risk taking free handlers gets bitten, it puts the rest of the venomous keeping community or even the whole reptile keeping hobby for that matter in a bad light which we really don’t need! What you do behind closed doors is your own business but I don't see any benefit or educational value in posting your free handling antics on a public forum.
