Lavender Albino Retics

Lavender Albino Retics

Hey Guys

So whom of you remember Dolce and Gabanna that got out in Sandton, Gallo Manor last year around March?

Well I am now the proud owner of the two snakes. They have been on a rat only diet. The male was thin and underfed. The female is big but 4 years old and only 3.5meters she has much more growing to do.
I got them over to piglets now. They are doing really great. They are now growing at an alarming rate as a retic should. I have them on an average 1.8 kg piglet per week and on their "off" week I feed them a rat or two. I do chuck in rats in between just to vary the diet somewhat.
They were treated and cared for like dogs and thats not how you should treat any reptile, we all know that. Their room was disinfected with F10 on a weekly basis and they got a spray down with F10 aswell :smt017 . Vet checks was a monthly routine, They received electrolyte supplements from the vet etc. When they didn't eat they were tube fed...
So I am very happy I could take them over and they are doing great now.

Haha, I remember the stir that these guys caused!

Congrats on getting your hands on them. Judging by the way the owners looked after them, I am surprised the sold them to you.

They do look in good condition to me. I don't like overfed, fat Retics, but prefer them slender and "arboreal" looking.

Do you own any other Retics? What are your breeding plans with these?

Well they were getting to big for her to handle, so I technically didn't buy them.
No I'm not getting them fat. Just trying to get them going again and then will feed them smaller meals more regularly . I've had them for about 2 months now and they are doing good.

Well I am hoping to get them breeding this year. Then next year will see if I can get a Super Tiger male and breed it to the Lavender Female. I'm new to the whole retic world. I still have allot to learn when it comes to these animals.
