Whoohoo

I may be incorrect, but that is what I seem to see happening. Normally the bulge in her body is closer to the tail, but some days when that part of her body is off the heating pad, the bulge is higher up. The next time I manage to see it, I will take a pic and post.

I was messing around in the snake room yesterday, so I decided to take a pic of her.

I took a pic of my girl yesterday, and so I do an update today.
Things are indeed looking positive, with about 90 to 120 days still to go.

The girl is definitely taking strain now, and has gone into the blue.
This may be a pre-birthing shed coming up, which basically puts her right on course for me to see babies, anywhere from the end of January to the end of February.

Here is a pic taken yesterday.

What are typical litter sizes ?
Looking at the size of her I would imagine a pretty big litter is on its way.

I have heard that average Litter Sizes are about 10 babies.
This girl however usually drops about 14, but normally slugs and dead babies with only 1 or 2 live babies.
This time however seems to be totally different, and I am expecting a nice batch of live babies.

The Lady gave birth on Saturday. Needless to say, once again a dissapointment.
Although better than in the past, still not up to scratch.
I am now fully convinced that the problem lies with the male, due to the large amount season after season, of undeveloped eggs (Slugs).

The final total is as follows, 14 Slugs and 5 live babies, of which two have died and I suspect I will lose a third, due to what looks like the intestine pulled out, I may be wrong but maybe those more knowledgeable will be able to advise me. Please excuse the poor quality pics, taken with my Mobile.

Keep no3 on damp clean toweling as you're doing. I've used f10sc at 2-4ml/l saline to dampen the paper in the past. I think this one will be ok provided you dont get opportunistic bacteria in there.

Thanks Blet, that is about the only thing I could remember even with almost 15 years in the hobby. Clean, Damp Toweling.
We will have to wait and see what happens.

Yeah dont pull on that umbilicus but let the blood supply stop and then you can cut it off tomorrow or the next day but very low down (5cm or so from the belly). Keep them on damp paper in a tiny container so that they dont move around.
I also believe your male is a dud.
