New anaconda plus strike pics

Got these ever so loving snakes the other day. I think they are awesome snakes but as reading in the other post not every one agrees .

I see these the same as venomous snakes. You dont handle your puff adder so why handle these. If you make a mistake with the puff adder then that is dangerous. If you make a mistake with these it just hurts and stinks.

I have seen tame ones which dont musk but they are the exception rather than the rule.

Mine has not tried to bite me yet!
Eating very well and is active!
Loves the water!
Try putting a t-shirt that you have been wearing for the day in the tank!
This seems to help with their temperament! do this everyday for week and then take the snake out with the shirt in the tank! Hope this helps!

Yes, the shirt is a great idea. At least you will have something close at hand to stop the bleeding.

ah cmon are these Anacondas really that bad tempered?
Only bad tempered snake ive ever had (Dunno why he was so ..hostile) was a Aurora basicly got a Zap evertyime i handled him

Uhm yes they really are that bad tempered.

I've had a few in my life time and wouldn't easily take any on again, unless of course I handle them like my hots.

Let me put like this. If you take a black mamba, removed the fangs and venom glands. Add about 50kg of weight, you will probably end up something similar to an anaconda.

Im not into the whole handling thing of many snakes but these snakes I managed to handle and they will just chill on my hand but any fast movements or if someone walks past then they will strike out. They have not defecated on me or anything yet.

Its wierd. Certain species just seem really aggressive, Yellow Anacondas are one of them!! However, I have super tame Retics and African Rocks, also snakes with a bad rep. Maybe they are all like humans, each one different.

I just love it when kids get their 1st anake and anacondas are soooo cool and cheap, but the pet shop sells the same one 4-5 times on average at 100% profit as the people keep bringing them back for free...Lol iv had a nock from a 3m annie and its dam painfull, not something i would like to experience again any time soon thanks.
