Hi guys
Myself and my lady got a Columbian rainbow Boa at the expo, we are supper happy with the little guy. i just want some advice on humidity and temps. I have read a few different care sheets and they all say the same sort of thing, 30+ basking and 24 cool side. Humidity should remain above 70% when juvi. At the moment im spraying the tub twice a day and the humidity will get to about 75% for a while but will then drop to like 60%. For example, I gave the tub a good spray last night at about 12 before going to bed, when i woke up at 7am this morning, the humidity was 60%. Just to give you an idea of my setup, Im keeping him in a 11l tupperware for now, i have him on paper towel, with a water bowl that i have placed in the middle of the tub so that it is on the hot and cool side. For heating, im using a heat pad under half of the tub. The heat pad gets the hot side to around 34 during the day and 32 at night which is fine. My question is what can we do to get the humidity up to around 80%?? I have read about a humidity box(small tupperware with moss) that the little guy can go into to get more humidity, and i have read about misters that will up the humidity, the tub is too small for either really but will have to make a plan if need be.
As for temps, is it ok for the night time temps to be around 30?? i have just left the heat pad on for the last for days 24/7(mainly cos it hasnt been that hot at night) but i cant seem to find much on night time temps on the caresheets.
Regards
J
