Only criticism I have is the focus on the venustus. The head of the snake, expecially the eyes, should always be in focus to make a good picture. The other two I like. Good going.

I agree, if the eyes are in focus you can get away with the rest The eyes make the picture feel alive. You can see this on your coral shieldcobra shot. Pretty snakes.

Wow i love these photos

The snakes are awsome DS.
Who do they belong to?
Just work on a few minor things like focus points as Ales have said and the photos will be good.
These images were taken in an controlled enviorment and therefore you have control over your camera settings.
Give us some EXIF info when you took the images.
Keep them coming.

I also tend to like photos in natural light or with dark natural backrounds. Nice photos and awesome snakes.

Nice pics!

Further to what everyone else has suggested it also helps to apply some rule of thirds composition, although this can be tricky with venomous species:)
One of the most tragic things I know about human nature is that all of us tend to put off living. We are all dreaming of some magical rose garden over the horizon instead of enjoying the roses that are blooming outside our windows today.

Hey guys thanks for the constructive crits. my bro Iszy known here as ISZY owns the snakes. and when he calls me to photograph not much goes into the compilation of the images and what not, i have not used any additional lighting in the images, its just whatever light is in the snake room, usually during the day. and lets just say im not a snake person, so shoving my lens infront of them isnt my favourite task.

but thought i should share the images with you.

will post more when i get a chance.
