Gaboon Adder (Bitis gabonica)

Somewhere up in Northern KwaZulu-Natal recently, along with my girlfriend and two friends, we had the privilege of coming across this absolute beauty of a snake! What we were all dying to see.

How is that for camouflage?

Epic find and great photography. It's great to know that they are still around.

Thanx for sharing.

Such a beautiful species. If I was brave enough I would consider adding it to my collection.

These pictures are amazing Nick. I love the closeup, very sexy snake!
The kiss originated when the first male reptile licked the first female reptile, implying in a subtle, complimentary way that she was as succulent as the small reptile he had for dinner the night before.
