Arno - Last night when the news broke of the find, it ended up on some chat group and I heard there was already some oke last night saying he would pay R20000 for it. Absolute joke, that snake is coiled under some rock or underground right now where it belongs.

The snake was found crossing a road.

Great find, and that last picture is a real stunner. The details on each scale is astounding and you captured it well.

I would go as far as to say these are the best pictures I have seen of this species.

Those Fisks house snakes are magnificent! Those are defintitly some of the nicest pictures I have seen too.

Its a great shot it would've been just as great even if it wasn't a fiskii

And I agree its probably the best photo of this specimen that has been seen online or in a book.

Awesome finds Lourance - I'm particularly jealous of that Fisk's... It seems that I am becoming part of a continually diminishing group of people who have not seen that animal in the wild yet... :smt022

And, as for the wild, that's exactly where it belongs, not in the hands of some collector...! So, as I am sure you will, just keep tight lipped about the locality and all will be fine...

Next time you will not be allowed to even stop and remove it off the road because it is a TOPS animal. TH you better hurry. A picture of you holding the snake could get you locked up or fined.
