Snakes found in the Little Karoo.

Coming back from a roadcruise I drove past a group of people in the middle of town photographing something on the side walk next a well know restaurant. I noticed a security guard poking something with his baton.

I stopped and hurried closer asking the guy what he was doing and he said he had a snake.

And thats how I caught this beauty . I drove an end down the road and released it in the river where it likely came from.

Luckily it was unharmed. Usually a person with a baton does not leave them alone. Nice save.

I removed this little guy last week from a retirement complex. Unfortunately the dog got hold of him.

It is a juvenile Cape cobra.

That's correct its a baby cape cobra.

Its still alive and moving around, I'm just keeping the wound clean and treating it with bactroban every other day.
