Snake ID please

Snake ID please

Postby Darling » Thu Sep 25, 2014 3:28 pm

Hi there

So i found this little fella while on my way to hang washing - almost stepped right on top of him. I had to wrestle my 3 small dogs to keep away from him. After safely putting them away, i ran for my phone to take this pic - so please excuse the bad photo - i was also shaking at the time

An uneducated guess would be either a slug eater or juvenile mole snake? In the pic it looks bigger than it actually is - he was only about 30 - 35cm long and as thick as my small finger. Found in Ottery

Difficult to tell from the picture, but looks like a Slug Eater, totally harmless.

Thanks Westley

We had one before, but unfortunately it was dead and alot smaller. I guess this is prone to areas like Ottery as it's quite damp. Thanks for the reply :)
