This past week I headed down into the Western Cape, South Africa. A province known for a wide array of habitats from high montane fynbos, Atlantic coastal dunes and arid Karoo landscapes.

Nice stuff Mr Ping. Great photography as ALWAYS.

That Ouroborus is obvious very pregnant. Awesome to see.

I understand someone is working on dividing O. cataphractus into 2 or more distinct species. You get the solid yellow ones (like yours) and then there are the more mottled populations. This rumour has been circulating for a few years, so let's see if anything comes of it.

Looking at your specimen, it is easy to see where the Namaqualand common name of "Geel Thysie" comes from :lol:
