Found this little thread snake in Joburg South.

Common name and latin please.

2:2 Pseudaspis cana
1:2 Dasypeltis scabra

And yes they are all on permit.

Leptotyphlops.

Most likely Leptotyphlops scutifrons very difficult if not impossible to ID from such a photo.
Organized crime comes in more forms than one.

Thanks. I was thinking firstly that its a Pete's thread snake but the Eastern thread snake also covers the same range and in appearance is identical.

Just some info to help id info on peters' thread snake .......Identification: Very small and thin. Polished appearance red - brown to grey -black above;paler below. Blunt head . Eyes reduced to black spots beneath skin. Similar species : western thread snake, black thread snake, cape thread snake. :D
