Limpopo trip...again...and again

Myself and Mongoose (and joined later by MV) went on a trip to Limpopo province looking for a possibly extinct butterfly and to so some surveys for SABCA. Over the 10 days we got 33 species of reptiles and at least 12 species of frogs, including:

Amblyodipsas polylepis (Common purple gloss snake (DOR))
Zygaspis quadrifrons (Kalahari Round-headed worm lizzard)
Heliobolis lugubris (Bushveld lizzard)
Cordylus breyeri (Waterberg girdle lizzard)
Platysaurus minor (Waterberg flat lizzard)
more than 60 Chamaeleo dilepis (Flap neck chameleon)
Homopholis wahlbergii (Veltvet gecko)
Naja mossambica (Mozambique Spitting cobra)
Atractaspis bibronii (Southern Stilleto snake)
Kinixys sp. (most likely K.lobatsiana) (Skarnierskilpad....)

Did you find the butterfly?

Thanks for the visit you guys, it was fun. Too bad I had to work mostly... :sad:

Is the Girdled Lizzard in the pics I sent you yesterday the same - Cordylus breyeri (Waterberg girdle lizzard)?

Where's the "other" pic of Mongoose's worm? HAHAHA :lol:

Correct ID Drummer!

Boing, no we didn't. The only known locality hasn't produced the butterfly for almost 15 years. But we'll keep looking...
MV, Mongoose's worm is now in the hands of Johan Marais ;) It might be the same though, but we'll have to see the specimen or good photos. Will drive through tonight to come and have a look!

HAHA...I dare you!

Also found a HUGE Bitis arietans female DOR last night as I was driving home...but she was easily 120 - 125 cm...and FAT!!!
And also caught a glimpse of what I thought could have been the Psammophis angolensis (Pygmy Sand Snake)...but it was way to fast to ID positively.

But that's it...for now...

Nice finds awesome photos, The stilleto and spitter looks very nice.
The last pic is interesting to say the least.

Nope...came from the Thabazimbi side...went to herp at my dad's place yesterday afternoon.

I was wondering, did you "get your head sorted" after this weekend? Or was the glass door just not enough to do damage?
