HI All
This unfortunate little guy was caught by the electric fencing around our property close to Hoedspruit. Of course we were too late to save him. I've got no idea what it is, and friends of mine have reported that it is a tiger snake. Is it? It's between 15cm and 20cm and relatively thin.

That is a Common Tiger Snake - Telescopus semiannulatus. They're very nice snakes, its really unfortunate about what happened to this little guy.

Thanks for the response guys. It is unfortunate, but at the rate we've been spotting snakes in and around our house the last two weeks if I had to keep them all I'll have to build a barn!

Since 20 October 2012 we've had 3 Variegated Bush Snakes, 1 Vine Snake, 1 Black Mamba and tonight the Tiger Snake.
