Caiman lizard exhibit

Hey all. I hope these pics make it through.

This is a new caiman lizard exhibit I completed a month or so ago for an aquarium in the UAE. I made the enclosures out of acrylic, the facade out of plywood and fiberglass and the plants are a cheeky mix of live and plastic. A sump, skimmer box and submersible filter are hidden BEHIND the fiberglass rock facade. Heating is provided via and electric fan heater ducted to run accross the acrylis so as to prevent condensation, as well as submersible water heaters in the sump. Lighting's full spectrum flourescent and mercury vapour.

Excuse the rubbish pics. they are from my phone. I'll post better ones now that the display is running and settled. It houses two adult caiman lizards and a handful of South American fish.

A mixed species exhibit. Unfortulately the caiman lizard tank is themed, so I had to send the other one to a Southeast Asian exhibit.

Kev, the cage is just over 2m x 1.5m and 1.2m high. It's part of a series of three, including a python exhibit the same size and an acrylic cylinder for clawed frogs.

Been all over the show. Planning a Southeast Asia sorty, hopefully before the year's end. Decided to screw the reptile thing and become a rice farmer

Nomatter what you do herps will always be part of your life, even though I have never met you, I can see you have a passion. If you really want to quit herpetology proffessionally then go for it, just never lose that flame inside man. And remember to post more pics haha!

Nice exhibit. I am glad you managed to get some of the beasts you were after. Those are really nice lizards. Now just to breed them!

These we had from the beginning and they have been through a number of rough patches thanks to people who have no clue. I'm just in the process now of importing Apple Snails by the kg to boost their diet- and give them some fun.

Oh, and I still haven't recieved a single reptile shipment for similar reasons to those you know all about. That's why I wanna become a rice farmer

What beautiful lizards!! They look like they grow quite big. What is their temperament like? Your habitats are beautiful too. I see you put water in the bottom sort of like a dam. How do you keep the habitat waterproof?
