Burmballs...

Interspecies breeding and 2 headed snakes are the type of thing that would be discussed here. We are aware that these are controversial issues and some people feel strongly about their opinions on them. Please respect each other's views and keep discussions amicable.

I don't think there is a defenite answer for that.. It could be inbetween, as small as the boa, big as the burm or it could turn out to be a huge like when you cross a lion and a tiger and it is bigger than both

The Burmball is a good looker, but the Balltic is just something else...

Awesome Snake. Now I just need to get ahold of one of those Burmballs. A huge snake with the Ball Pythons curling up defense. Seriously cool.

That list as impressive and long as it is, just goes to show how far behind we actually are.
How many of those crosses have been done in South Africa?

I would like to add that although our philosophy is that our hobby does not revolve around money, these Hybrids fetch top dollar, and in many cases they cost more than pure bred animals.

Supply and demand...
You are 101% correct Rolandslf.
And Carla Smit. Freaking great work on that list.
Awesome maybe we should take that list and add photos for the snake keepers.
It might encourage them and a bigger market will slowly form.

the thing with morphs and hybrids are that people are more likely to find out about the snakes when it makes headlines and stuff like it is more in the face of the public.
Get them exited and the market might sky-rocket. There is just to little people (in ratio) educated on and interested in reptiles.

Some very nice looking snakes. But I was wondering wether these snakes don't grow up with a lot of health related problems?

The only hybrid which is from a wild caught parent is the Tree boa cross. These do pop up from time to time in shipments from South America. The Carpet x Diamond intergrades also occur in the wild.

Some of the hybrids do not do well. The burmese x african rock pythons often have defects and die. The L. fuscus x M spilotes had a cleft palate and other crosses often lay infertile eggs or die full term in the egg.

Just out of interest what sort of care would a hybrid need? What i'm trying to say is if you cross two snakes with two different husbandry requirements, which one do you you cater for?
Nice looking snakes by the way, getting my mind working on what can be crossed...king cobra x retic?I know it can't happen but imagine?
