Definately not a house snake, and it is most certainly a snouted cobra. They have have a potent neurotoxin aswell as cytotoxin and can give a serious bite that can cause fatallity. I agree, get someone out there who knows what he is doing. If you have a lot of debris lying around, maybe ask that same person to have a look around and then you should remove the debris from the immediate area around the house.

Brown house snakes are small harmless nocturnal snakes easily identifiable by the bold light stripe above each eye. They grow to about 60-100 cm.

Snouted cobras on the other hand are aggressive highly venemous diurnal snakes. To the untrained eye they are difficult to identify, that is until thay spread their impressive hood
They can get up to about 1.8 m in length
