2011 Breeding Season

2011 Breeding Season

Postby Mitton » Sat Dec 03, 2011 10:30 am

All of my Carpet Python eggs hatched during the last 2 weeks. First was my first Irian Jaya clutch two weeks ago and then second Irian Jaya and my Jungle clutches hatched this week.

First the Irian Jayas.

Now I understand why they say Carpet pythons are going to take over from Ball pythons. Those are such fat little babies!!!

That jungle does look like it has a jaguar influence! I guess that is a keeper!

Those Irians are something else, but I love the Jungles! Nice one, B! That Jungle is a definite keeper!

Thanks guys, I am very happy with these babies and that little Jungle is certainly a keeper. Can't wait for them all to shed.
Aaxel, Carpet Pythons are easy to keep, no special needs really.

That red one looks so similar to Darwins I can understand why they were are considered the closest relatives. These have really coloured up well.

The colours are starting to kick in now. Another year should be able to brighten them up as well.

I still believe these are the most under-rated pythons we have. People overlook them and they dont grow to big but are not small like most pet colubrids. They do well in SA and are easy to breed. I dont know why there are not more of them around.
