New JCP Male Hatchling

New JCP Male Hatchling

Postby Tyronen » Mon May 05, 2014 1:45 pm

Here is my new little Jungle Carpet Python Male (Nov 2013 model) from Eugene. He is nice and light already so I’m hoping he will become a real beauty over the next 18-24 months. His parents are stunning and his mom in particular is gorgeous!

He is a real little nipper as well  , something I’ll work on slowly but surely, I expect he will calm down over the next year. In the meantime, I will likely need a new box of plasters every week to stem the blood letting.
On the plus side I’ve switched him over to medium rat pinks and he chows them down like there is no tomorrow! So I expect he will grow nicely.

Niiiice!!!!

I got given a male who is already 1.2m yesterday by a friend who no longer has time for the snake which is a really poor excuse but anyway.

The one i got i have never handled before and he wasn't even the slightest bit worried or nervous, super docile and relaxed so im sure with a little bit of continuous handling your hatchling will learn who you are and the nipping should ease up hehe.

But very nice strong pattern on him and nice coloring too i'm sure he will be a stunner when he is bigger.

I really like these little guys but they do tend to be a bit nippy. Good luck with him.

Here are some updated pictures at just over 6 months old, he's just had his first shed with me. He is growing nicely +- 60g now and taking medium Rat Pinks. Has a crazy feeding response!

You can see his colours starting to come out already, I expect he will end up being very bright yellow by 18-24 months.

Here is an updated picture set of my male, he is growing nicely and his colours are really starting to shine. These were taken from my Cellphone outside after a fresh shed.
