Bronx Zoo Missing Cobra Turns Up...on Twitter!

New York - As keepers at the Bronx Zoo search for a missing Egyptian cobra, a Twitter account claiming to be that of the venomous snake is attracting thousands of followers.

The @BronxZoosCobra account was created on Monday and has racked up more than 50 000 followers.

Among the tweets from the missing snake:

- "A lot of people are asking how I can tweet with no access to a computer or fingers. Ever heard of an iPhone? Duh."

- "Leaving Wall Street. These guys make my skin crawl."

- "It's getting pretty cold out. I think it's probably time to crash. Oh look, an apartment window someone left open just a crack. Perfect!"

- "Donald Trump is thinking about running for president?! Don't worry, I'll handle this. Where is Trump Tower exactly?"

The reptile section of the Bronx Zoo was shut down after the cobra, which is an adolescent female around 50cm long, escaped from its enclosure on Friday.

Bronx Zoo director Jim Breheny said finding the snake may take "days or even weeks" but reassured New Yorkers that it is hiding somewhere within the Reptile House.

All I know is somebody is in serious trouble. The protocols regarding venomous snakes was obviously not adhered to.

It's most likely some dumb publicity stunt anyway.. And the American media( as to be expected) did an horrible job covering it..All the facts on snakes were incredibly absurd and exaggerated and it was really rather pathetic to watch...
