Australian water dragons

Australian water dragons

Hi Guys.

I have a huge pair of Aussie water dragon which I bought a while back.
They were very skinny and was not taken care of correctly.

I took them home, after a nice bath they went into their new cage with all the proper lighting.
After a few days I could already see that they are doing much better as their behavior changed, they were not so skittish anymore and their colours started to show.
It was the first time that I saw the male's underside turn a deep red colour.
Long story short, they are now healthy and sorted.
They are a bit over weight I think but would like to breed them this year as I know they are in the best shape.
However, I want to know if they will breed being so fat or should they first diet a bit?

I would also appreciate comments from other breeders as to how I must do their cooling, what to drop it to and so on, as most of the care sheets I get are from overseas and not really applicable to South Africa as our seasons are different.

I bred my basilisks and love to see all the little babies run around so would love to breed my water dragons this year.
I also have a nice pair of Chinese water dragons so any breeding on them will also be great otherwise Ill just start another topic for them.

Thanks guys

Does anybody have Johan du Preez's contact details whom breeds all the lizards or his alias name?

Ps. Water dragons are gonna be moved to their new cages soon. Just busy finishing off with the lizard room.
Their new cages will be 1500x1200x1000.

You can contact Johan on 0829294559. I know he has just bred his again this year. Hope you have luck with yours too.
