This is the red adder (Bitis rubida) that was found at Tanqua reserve, Northern Cederberg. So not all red up there. I thought at first was cornuta with reduced horns, but prett sure its rubida.

I may have posted this before, can't remember (old age)

Very different for a rubida in my books - It doesn't really look like 'cornuta' phase rubida either. It seems to have quite rough lateral scales...almost like Cerastes. Very nice and thanks for sharing.
