Weird question Bitis Gabonica

Postby iiviii » Tue Dec 14, 2010 10:34 am

Hi all.

I know this is a bit on the weird side, but i was wondering if anyone knows where I could find a Gaboon Viper complete scull? I saw a photo of one recently and I'm keen on doing something similar.

Regards

Chris.

It is possible to buy these from suppliers overseas. Locally there are some taxidermists that will clean up skulls for you although not all are in the same league when it comes to quality. If you can find some road kills you can practice for yourself. Just remember in the Eastern Cape this might be illegal. Gaboon skulls would require a permit for anywhere in the country as they are listed as TOPS animals.
It is easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.

Those who are afraid to ask are ashamed of learning.

Try the yellow pages maybe. Most gun or sports shops should be able to point you in the right direction.

Reply is a tad late perhaps, but if you have a couple of grand lying around you can get one from SKULLS UNLIMITED in the states. Better still is its a museum quality replica so TOPS won't apply! I have bought stuff from these guys before and they're class!
Whats this nonsense about genetically modified food being dangerous and not tasting good!?! I had a leg of salmon yesterday and it was delicious!
